White Ribbon Day – 25 November
I’m pleased to announce that Middlesbrough has been awarded the White Ribbon town award, in recognition of our work to tackle domestic abuse and violence towards women. The national award is the result of a campaign led by Middlesbrough Council, in partnership with organisations such as Cleveland Police, schools, Middlesbrough FC and specialist service providers.
I’d like to firstly congratulate the team, led by Domestic Abuse Coordinator Claire Moore, for working tirelessly to achieve this status and demonstrate Middlesbrough’s ongoing commitment to both reducing domestic abuse and providing support for those affected by it. I’d also like to encourage everyone, especially men, to sign up to the pledge in support of the campaign: www.whiteribboncampaign.co.uk/makepledge.
