Ofsted Inspections Under PREVENT Duty

Under the PREVENT duty Ofsted now have a duty to inspect schools to ensure compliance with the conditions of Section 26 of the Counter Terrorism & Security Act 2015. One pre school in the Norfolk area recently fell foul to being insufficiently robust enough in its measures to safeguard its students from this risk of radicalisation (see link)

Now is the time to ask yourself;

Are your staff aware of the indicative risk factors which suggest a young person is at risk of radicalisation?

Are they aware of whom to refer young people to?

Do they know what the Channel process is?

Are you completing a rolling risk assessment action plan recording all of your PREVENT related actions?
