Early Help Briefing, My Place – 7th June 2018 (2 sessions)

John Scadden has arranged some ‘education specific’ Early Help briefings, offering a short briefing on the local Early Help offer – including a 30 minute opportunity for questions/answers. The sessions are for anyone from school who you may feel this will benefit, including Governors. The next sessions are scheduled for Thursday 7th June 2018 and will be held at My Place, Middlesbrough. The first session will run from 9.15 – 10.30 am and the second from 3.45 – 5.00 pm.

Crossing the Tees Book Festival – 9th to 23rd June 2018

FREE Talk about Alcohol Education Programme, My Place – Monday 11th June 2018

The Alcohol Education Trust is offering a 1½ hour Talk About Alcohol teacher training session, looking at PSHE approved resources for use in Secondary Schools. The FREE programme will take place on Monday 11th June 2018 from 3.30 – 5.00 pm., with refreshments being served from 3pm. For more details click here

Prince’s Trust Get Started with Games Design Taster Day – Tuesday 12th June 2018 and Programme Dates from 18th to 22nd June 2018

The Prince’s trust are offering a FREE Get Started with Games Design course for 16 to 25 year olds who are unemployed, not in full time education or training. Further details and how to book can be found here

Next Steps … A Conference for NQTs in the North East – Wednesday 20th June 2018

This is a joint conference organised by 12 North East Regions, and is being held on Wednesday 20th June 2018 from 9.00 am – 4.00 pm at Middlesbrough Football Club. MAP Global Bridge Local Employer Event, Macmillan Academy – Wednesday 20th June 2018

globalbridge is an online platform, which allows young people to showcase their talents and achievements to educational institutions and industry. The platform also allows universities and businesses to search a fully customisable database to identify individuals who satisfy specific career aspirations, skills, interest and goals. To encourage businesses in Middlesbrough to sign up, MAP is hosting an event to outline the benefits the online platform brings and will be funding the first 100 employers wishing to sign up. My Family Plan Training, Easterside Children Centre – Tuesday 26th June 2018

The Early Help Assessment has been redesigned into ‘My Family Plan’ and day training is being delivered by the Family Partnership Team Manager, John Scadden. Inclusive Teaching & Learning for EAL Leaners: Building up your Toolkit, Middlesbrough Football Club – 26th & 27th June 2018

Middlesbrough Council has reviewed its training offer for the Thresholds, resulting in the training being updated in line with Middlesbrough Children Services Transformation Programme. Lego Clubs

Weekly Lego clubs are currently being run and are suitable for children 4+ and families. Events are run at Central Library every Monday from 4.00 – 5.15 pm and North Ormesby Community Hub every Saturday from 10.00 -11.30 am. Flyers for each event are attached here: Central Library, North Ormesby
