Digital Resilience Annual Conference – Monday 29th January 2018

The Risk & Resilience Team are holding a Middlesbrough Digital Resilience Annual Conference at Middlesbrough Football Club. Attached is the draft agenda for the day, and you will see that there are some of the UKs leading specialists coming to Middlesbrough to discuss digital resilience with our schools. An Introduction to the Teesside Space Mission – Wednesday 31st January 2018, 5.30 – 7.15pm

Teesside University are hosting an Introduction to the Teesside Space Mission event, which will be delivered by chartered engineer, Shaun Whitehead and Teesside University’s Dr Atma Prakash. This event is great opportunity to learn more about the mission and how you and your school can get involved. Middlesbrough College Open Event – Saturday 3rd February 2018, 10 am to 12 noon

Middlesbrough College will be holding an Open Event, offering potential students the perfect opportunity to find out more about the college and the courses on offer. During the event students can visit the interactive subject stands, take a tour of the £100m campus, get free impartial careers advice, find out about great student perks, meet current students and apply for courses.  Pre-register here and you could win an iPad mini!

Macmillan Academy Post-16 Open Morning – Saturday 10th February 2018, 10 am to 12 noon

Macmillan Academy are holding a Post-16 open morning on Saturday 10th February 2018 from 10 am to 12 noon. The event will be a great opportunity for students from secondary schools across Middlesbrough to go along and look around the Post-16 facilities and find out about courses, business links and university options available to them.

Apprenticeship Event – Monday 26th February 2018

The Tees Valley Network, in partnership with National Careers Service, would like to invite all Year 9 learners to an interactive Apprenticeship Event at Inspire2Learn Centre on Monday 26th February 2018. The Big Autism Play Day, Hartlepool – Thursday 8th March 2018

The Big Autism Play Day is a CPD opportunity led by national experts in their field, which will focus on the sensory needs experienced by so many students on the autistic spectrum. Details on booking and costs can be found here.

Moving On … In the Teaching, Learning & Assessment Cycle – Wednesday 28th March 2018

Middlesbrough Schools’ Teaching Alliance and Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council are hosting a Moving On Conference from NQTs on Wednesday 28th March 2018 at Inspire 2 Learn from 8.30 am. Next Steps … A Conference for NQTs in the North East – Wednesday 20th June 2018

This is a joint conference organised by 12 North East Regions, and is being held on Wednesday 20th June 2018 from 9.00 am – 4.00 pm at Middlesbrough Football Club. Bereavement Book List

A small selection of titles are available from Middlesbrough Libraries, which may help children and young people who have been affected by bereavement, and these books can help deal with fried and bereavement. The full list of books available is available here.
