MAP Conference – ‘An Introduction to Restorative Practice’ – 25 January 2018

Engaging Able Writers Conference – 25 January 2018
MSTA & Middlesbrough English Hub are holding an Engaging Able Writers Conference from Alan Peat which features enrichment and enhancement strategies for able writers, and which will be aimed at Classroom practitioners from Y4-6. Advanced Punctuation Event – 30 November 2017
MSTA & Middlesbrough English Hub are inviting colleagues to Advanced Punctuation event lead by Steph Coyle. This free event will be held at Newham Bridge Primary School from 1.30 – 3.30 pm. To book a place email email@example.com.
Middlesbrough College Open Event – 2 December 2017, 10 am to 12 noon
Middlesbrough College will be holding an Open Event, offering potential students the perfect opportunity to find out more about the college and the courses on offer. During the event students can visit the interactive subject stands, take a tour of the £100m campus, get free impartial careers advice, find out about great student perks, meet current students and apply for courses.

Apple Regional Training Centre offering for staff
Using iPad to inspire creative writing, Thursday 23rd November 2017, 4:00 to 5:30pm, North Ormesby Primary Academy
The best writing happens when students are engaged and interested in the topic. This session will look at a range of apps and approaches using iPad to help take your learners’ writing to the next level, including green-screening, using fantasy environments and producing digital books.

Second Chance Course
The Early Intervention & Prevention team are running a Second Chance course, which is aimed at teaching people skills and techniques to apply to everyday situations. Previous courses have led to some great case study examples of improved mental health and wellbeing, anxiety confidence and relationships. The course will be held over 3 half day sessions, on 28th November, 5th December and 12th December – and you will need to commit to all 3 sessions – and will run from 1.00 – 4.30 pm at the North Ormesby Hub.

Community Reinforcement & Family Training (CRAFT)
Recovery Connections are offering their CRAFT 6-week programme for family members affected by someone else’s substance use. The programme teaches families, carers and friend’s effective strategies for helping their loved ones and themselves. Referrals can be made using the attached form.
