We love a good new story here at MAP and we’re very proud of Harvey Main who is a pupil at Acklam Whin Primary School.
Harvey grew his hair to donate to The Little Princess Trust to make wigs for children following cancer treatment. He is also leading fund raising toward raising money for Ward 14 at James Cook University Hospital.
Like so many of us, Harvey was moved by two people close to his heart who have suffered with cancer and his aim was to raise £1,000 for the hospital. He had already raised nearly £600 and his school wanted to help him reach his target by holding a special ‘Hair Raising Day’ earlier in January. For a minimum of £1 donation, children and staff came to school with the wackiest of hair styles and during the morning, they held a very special assembly where Harvey had his ‘famous locks’ chopped in front of the whole school.
Harvey received incredible support from families at the school who helped him to smash his total and raise over £2,000! A very well done to Harvey and everyone who helped him raise such a wonderful amount for a special cause.
