PREVENT – Safeguarding Update
A new year and new term brings many different challenges so perhaps it may be a good time to review your statutory obligations under Section 26 of the Counter Terrorism & Security Act 2015 in respect to PREVENT and the safeguarding nature of preventing vulnerable young people from the risk of radicalisation.
Attached is a recommended “Live” rolling risk assessment which you can measure your schools compliance against the PREVENT duty and also add to as a record of your compliance and progress in ensuring this safeguarding requirement for young people.
For those schools whom have already adopted this risk assessment attached is a reminder checklist which has been updated which may help in the completion of the rolling risk assessment.
Prevent aims to safeguard young people, if you believe a young person or vulnerable adult is at risk of radicalisation please contact Middlesbrough Councils safeguarding on (01642) 728004 or Cleveland Police on 101.
